Those that want to live healthily, usually associate the mantra with exercising regularly and eating clean. However one of the more essential and important components of being healthy is making sure you add enough vitamins and minerals to your daily life.  While a doctor may tell you to change your diet in order to make sure you get all the nutrients you need, men on average, do not follow the advice of medical professionals according to data. Below are the vitamins men should incorporate into a  multivitamin. These are what men need in a multivitamin.

Considering it is borderline impossible to get enough vitamin D from food, making sure men have that in their diet can be crucial to their mental health. If you don't get vitamin D it could potentially slow you down and your mood will suffer. Men over 70 need more vitamin D than those that are younger. Vitamin D  helps absorb calcium and it can be difficult for those that are older to et enough in their diet. Keep in mind that not enough vitamin D in men could make them more susceptible to colon cancer.

Folic Acid is one of the key essential B vitamins and you should make sure it is included in any multi-vitamin you decide to take.  Considering it can be hard to digest the recommended 400 micrograms a day, making sure it is part of your daily vitamin consumption could make all the difference in living a healthy life.

We all need the energy to get us through our day to day lives. Depending on your diet, you could not be getting enough of those crucial B vitamins to jumpstart your day. Many people decide to go get B-12 shots if they are low on B vitamins because it is like a natural source of energy. The recommended amount of B12 you should take daily should be about 2.4 mcg if you are eating a healthy, well-balanced diet. Some multivitamins do include B12 in their supplement but you can get the vitamin in common foods like salmon, shrimp, beef, chicken, clams eggs, and milk.

Making sure you cover all your bases is so important when it comes to taking vitamins. You may not know this but vitamin A does help improve things like vision and a good immune system. While vitamin A is crucial, it is important for you to only take the recommended dosage which is 3,000 IU, otherwise, you could suffer from nausea and an upset stomach. You can get plenty of Vitamin A by eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Carrots are specifically a great source of Vitamin A.

Vitamins and Age

Unfortunately for all of us, we are all going to get older. With age comes a greater responsibility of making sure we are taking care of our bodies.  While it is hard to be diligent in terms of vitamin consumption, it could prolong your life in ways you could only imagine. Being healthy may not be particularly fun to most at the moment, but in the long run, it is a wonderful thing to practice. Needless to say, Vitamin C is great for aging because it provides a protective role in neutralizing those elements that want to attack healthy cells. You can find vitamin C in a variety of healthy foods that taste great. Citrus is a great source of vitamin C so be sure to include that in your daily diet.

While aging is something we all go through, for men it can be particularly difficult if they aren't careful. Be sure to do your research before incorporating a vitamin into your daily routine.
