The Responsibility & Risk Of Gaming

As men and women. But mostly men. In our nature, it is very competitive; that is why competitive sports are one of the most mainstream and profitable organizations in the world. The Olympics, which is the most extensive global collection of competitive sports, is the world's biggest event. That should say a lot.

And naturally, as human beings, over time, we have grown to be so involved in these sports, so much so that we are willing to bet and risk actual money, which is the source of our very lively hood on these games. And most of the time, you do not know what you are doing because you cannot predict the future, so you lose a lot of money.

Most of you reading this usually put your entire hearts into your bets with the sure hopes that your selected team would win and you would more than double your money, only to end up feeling so devastated when your prediction ends up completely wrong. Your cash, both initial stake, and potential win, vanish before your very eyes.

Some of you might feel like this is an addiction that you need to beat or stop, but it isn't that deep. You can still indulge in regular gambling, just that you need to change your way of thinking. Relax, don't overthink about it, definitely don't put an insane amount of money, and most importantly, you need to remember that you do not need to gamble all the time!

You need to reorient your mind and change the way you view gambling. First of all, you need to stop thinking of gambling as a way to make money, a means to debt consolidation or as a source of income; just because you got lucky and cashed out that one time on that horse race three months ago doesn't mean that this can become your day job now.

You need to view gambling as a source of entertainment and nothing else. Put as little money as possible and try your best to enjoy yourself. If you are gambling and getting steady anxiety attacks each time you check the scores, you are doing it wrong.

Another essential thing to remember is to always remain sober while gambling. You need to stay sober before gambling, while gambling, and even after gambling because if you end up losing and decide to get drunk, you might end up unintentionally lashing out, which is not the best thing to do in a bar filled with a bunch of drunk sports fans.

If you are already drunk, forget about gambling that night. Nothing good will come from it unless, of course, you get stupidly lucky and win, but that is not the point. Don't drink and gamble. Never gamble as a coping mechanism or as a way to get a ''win''. In other words, never gamble right after your girl breaks up with you; gambling will not cure your depression.
